Protect Your Investments

Your reputation and business may never recover from pest infestation

Protect your reputation.

Prosecutions and fines for pest-infested premises are guaranteed to make the news headlines, frightening customers away. Lost business means lost profits - there are many examples where loss of consumer confidence has forced business to close.

Keep on the right side of the law.

Under the Prevention by Pests Act 1949, all property owners must keep their premises rodent-free, or if rodents pose a threat to health or property, report any infestation to the local authority.

In the food sector, the Act also includes insects and covers any vehicles used to carry food. Other legislation such as the Food Safety Act 1990 and the Food Hygiene (General) Regulations insist that food premises are kept as pest-free as is practical.

The penalities for failure to comply are severe - complete closure of premises, fines of up to £20,000 or up to six months in prison.
